Intel or AMD for $2500 build

I really can't make up my mind which is the good path to go with such a high budget :L

Depends on your needs. You might find that you don't need to spend quite so much ;)

However, if you are inclined to spend a high amount, Intel would be the obvious choice. Maybe a socket 2011 platform.

intel all the way, if you absolutely want to max out your budget. Honestly, i don't think you can max out the budget with amd, unless you get their higher clocked cpus which don't make any since.

Dual xeon build? Lmfao.

Intel for that budget.

Intel

Just for some ideas I guess, http://pcpartpicker.com/p/241Ej

Be sure to grab a 1TB SSD, Samsung 840 Evo or Crucial M500. They cost around 550 USD. 500GB models go for about 350 USD.

Oh and don't forget a high end sound card for 100-200 USD. I have a Sound Blaster Z and it makes a clear difference, especially in bass notes.

it depends indeed on your needs, but if you are willing to spend that much and you do more then gaming, like professional video editing and all that kind of heavy stuff., then intel socket 2011 with a six core all the way ☺

But for just a gaming rig its a bit of overkill realy. for just gaming i would say an intel 4770K. with that budget.
