the 3770k preforms a little better than 3820 also the cpu might be the same price but lga2011 motherboards are more expensive than lga1155
a 3770k wil also overclock better than a 3820
by the way for video edithing the amd fx-8350 is a beast, it prefoms a little worse than a 3770k in gaming
but it and it's motherboard are way cheaper, you can something lika a asus saberthoot amd bord for $180
the z77 version is $220, and the x79 version runs $310 (prices are form amazon)
but to awser your question, i would go whit the 3770k
personally i would go whit the amd 3820, overclock it to 4.5gHz and invest the monney is saved in a better gpu

I see a conservative overclocker.... you can get them to 5 ghz easy, if you have enough cooling
