Intel Desktop Boards equivalent? (Z790 Media Server Build)

Yep. Intel would have been my go-to for a solid board for an ATX HTPC case on 24/7, but it’s no longer an option these days.

What’s the equivalent now?

I’ve been burnt by Asus way too much, but are their CSM boards reliable? Are all their PRIME products also CSM?

So far, an i3-13100T is the only part i’ve bought already.

Any recommendations for a solid Linux-friendly board?

Needs to be 2.5Gb NiC, and support VT-d, VT-x.

Not decided on the distro yet. Maybe Debian or OpenSuSe? Gone off RedHat, and no love for Canonical either lol

Might even go ProxMox / Unraid now I remember them.

I can recommend OpenSuSe.

I’m running Tumbleweed for about a year now. Rolling release, bootable snapshots (BTRFS), nice GUI administration tool (Yast) and good repos. Worth a shot.
If you don’t like rolling release, Leap is your standard stable distro, positioned similar to e.g. Ubuntu or Debian.

Can’t help with the board unfortunately…don’t have experience with Intel boards and Linux.

Thanks. There won’t be a GUI, as it’s going to be headless 99% of the time. Tumbleweed is nice on a desktop though.
