Intel Core i7 3930k or Intel Core I7 3770k

Do I go with the Core i7 3930k with a maximus 4 extreme or Intel Core i7 3770k with a maximus 5 extreme with these parts. This is for high quality gaming and lightning fast video editing. I will be adding TONS of Ram and 2 More GTX 670s.

GPU - EVGA GTX 670 4GB Superclock

RAM - Corsair DOMINATOR Platinum 16 GB (2 x 8 GB)

HDD - Seagate Barracuda 3 TB (Retail Drive)

SSD - OCZ Vertex 4 128GB

OS - Windows 7 Professional SP1 64bit (Full) System Builder DVD 1 Pack

OPTICAL DRIVE - Asus Black 12X BD-ROM 16X DVD-ROM

CASE - Thermaltake Level 10 GT Snow Edition

CPU COOLER - Corsair Hydro Series H100

PSU - Corsair AX1200i

FANS- Cooler Master SickleFlow 120mm Blue LED x2

the 3930K has an extra 2 cores and 4 threads, get it

^agreed

Can't fault it.

The maximus is socket 1155 and the 3930k is socket 2011, the 3930k also has over twice the transister count of the 3770k which is a good indication of general preformance.

Get the 3930K as long as you can still afford all the other parts without having to compromise. I think you mean Rampage IV Extreme when you're talking about the motherboard. I would suggest getting a quad channel RAM kit along with it too. I would get something like this:

If you have the money for it then why not?

If i did more video editing/rendering/processing, then I would have gone w/ 3930k, but i dont do enough to justify me spending that much. So I got the 3770k. Its still a really great processor.

Your PSU is a bit overkill though. Unless you plan on doing some SLI down the road or something power demanding. Then again, it never hurts to have some headroom.

You're just bragging now :P

LOL thanks =D
