A real smart question here. 10900k. Does intel just keep adding zeros to their versions?

Intel and Nvidia are reading from the same marketing book.

But now we have windows 2004 and Ubuntu 2004… 2004? 2020 wait, nevermind

Unfortunately, I end up having not a huge amount of interest in CPU or other parts until I need a new one or im making a build then I go all out. So I’ve no idea about this announcement

In your defense, it is an Intel launch.

Wendell just mentioned power savings by hot-adding and hot removing CPU cores from the system on Linux.

I might have to look into this.

Thats interesting

I’d imagine it means you stop the cpu, but I wonder what that really means in terms of power consumption. Does it close off the tap completely, or just run it at a super low voltage?

That could be a game-changer in terms of high core count laptops on Linux.

Look at those prices though.

$298 for their base 8 core? Damn. I mean, the 3700x is $270, but intel’s always been waaay more expensive, it’s nice to see them falling in line.

#Competition ftw. Thanks AMD

Yep. I wonder how these CPUs will work out. These are 10nm right?

This should hopefully mean we see some better temps. Especially considering soldered IHS now.
