Installing Zorin OS

I'm very interested in Linux after hearing about its immunity to the vast sea of Windows viruses, it being open-source, and of course free. I've done a bit of investigating, and decided that installing Zorin OS would be a great segway to Linux. However, even after using different .iso to USB programs, it still won't install. I've configured my BIOS to make it attempt to boot from USB before CD-ROM, and CD-ROM before Windows, but to no avail.

I've used Universal USB Installer, UNetBootin, and have tried diskpart, but none of them work.

(NOTE: I have previously installed Ubuntu for a few minutes on this hard disk, but shortly after decided to uninstall it.)

(ALSO NOTE: This is an HP laptop)

My question/plea for help: Does anyone have any advice or instructions on how to install Zorin OS alongside Win8?

You have to turn secure boot off in the BIOS. This "feature" implemented by Microsoft prevents you from booting from Live media unless you turn it off, or have software from a developer that has implemented secure boot support, such as Ubuntu. There is also an additional layer of security that is configured within windows, but since you have already installed Ubuntu, I assume you have already turned that off.

I've made sure that Secure Boot is disabled, but still nothing happens. I noticed that Legacy Support has been disabled to, "support newer OSes such as Win8," and I think that if I enable Legacy Support (which will support "older" OSes), the system will recoginze Zorin OS.

What do you think?
