Installing Windows onto my new SSD

Hi folks. I have recently upgraded my PC and have this morning installed an 128gb Kingston V300 I picked up on sale. Installation was fine, and I am familiar with the bios enough to alter the boot order, I have a couple of questions as regards setting up the OS on my new boot drive.

1. I have my Windows 7 OEM product key and a spare optical drive to install the OS on. Does it matter if I install this without deactivating Windows 7 on my hard drive?

2. Windows is currently installed on the WD HDD. How easy is it to remove this entirely? Presumably once I activate the product key on the SSD the previous HDD version will cease to function - will this cause problems for me?

3. I intend to move things like Chrome and Adobe suite onto the SSD too while keeping my steam library and music filed on the HDD. Should I prepare for any difficulties in doing things this way?

4.Is it possible to transfer Adobe straight across from the HDD to SSD? I get my product key through University and don't have it to hand, therefore this method would be preferable however I thought this might lead to some data corruption.

5.. Is there anything else I should be aware of or is there a more efficient way to do this?

Thanks in advance for any help anybody is able to offer.

Although, it is tedious, just redownload and install. Moving programs files can cause problems.

Try to find the key to your Adobe. It makes more sense of you keeping track of it

Dont worry you'll get it working. Word of advice for anyone thinking about doing this before they purchase. I set up a 110gb partition on my hdd and did a w764 build + img in anticipation of going ssd. this made the switch much easier also always make a partition for your OS and don't rely on it for storage. There are several utilities that can be used to migrate the data like reflect or Samsung's magic drive i think its free on their site but may require a Samsung product not sure. I clip out all my serials and put them in a binder for future reference as well definitely start doing that. Also make an img of that new drive and create a folder with all of your drivers for the system in it so that migrating in the future is not so tedious. Let us know how you made out.

Do those things and look at this when you are doing the initial setup. It will increase performance, capacity, and extend the life of your SSD. http://www.overclock.net/t/1156654/seans-windows-7-install-optimization-guide-for-ssds-hdds
