I think this is like the 8th time I've posted asking for help installing windows and I'm sorry :\
I was installing windows 7 and It didn't work so i bought windows 8 and now I don't know how to get rid of the windows 7 partition on my hard drive so i can get windows 8 on there. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!!!!! I don't have an optical drive but I do on my mums laptop (which I've used to make my usb bootable) I've gone the entire day without food and its 6pm so I'm getting pretty cranky;) Every time I set the boot order 1 to my bootable windows usb and restart, it just loads the old windows 7 which i definitely don't want. Also I have no internet on my comp yet
btw I just deleted all the text from an old useless post that I made and retyped so I wouldn't have too many posts, cluttering things up
Thanks in advance!
Here you go http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/html/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool#installation It's pretty self explanatory install the program and pick the iso while in the program it will format your usb and that's pretty much it.
As far as i can see is your USB stick not bootable.
How to create a bootable usb stick using disk part, on a diffrent computer. This tutorial is for windows 7, but its basicly the same as windows 8, you can use your mothers laptop to create the stick.
http://www.intowindows.com/bootable-usb/
Installation:
Your windows 7 partition you could delete it with your windows 8 installation stick, wen you, set your usb stick as first boot device, and the windows 8 setup is starting, then you get an option to select which kind of install you want, upgrade or custom, choose for "custom". click next, then you get drive options, you will see your drive where windows 7 is allready installed on, select that, and click on the advanced options tab. There is an option for "Delete" for the choosen partition. If you do this, then your partition will get deleted, and your windows 7 partition will be gone. Then you will see the drive with unallocated disk space,"select it" just click next and the installation will start.
Other option, is not to delete the partition, but just format the partition, both will work its up to you.
It should be realy easy.
Your a legend man! I'm gonna try and download windows 8 from here- http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/upgrade-product-key-only - on my new computer and install it because i got my internet working then if that doesnt work then I'm gonna try what you suggested, thanks so much!
