Installing heatsink question

I am putting my build together right now and just opened my new hyper 212 plus and two of the ends of the copper pipes are bent in slightly from shipping damage apparently. They aren't broken off or anything just bent in a bit. Would it be okay to use it as is if they aren't broken open or should I try to RMA it and just use stock cooler until then?

Could you post a picture? It may be fine, but it would be cool to see it first. My main worry with any bending is whether the foot/plate is still perfectly level.

Stand it up on a desk and if it rocks it needs an RMA.

Use the stock and RMA. Hell if you are not gonna OC then just use the stock.

Don't have the means to get a picture right now sadly. The top two outer pins on the top are bent inwards slightly but not broken. It stands flat on a flat surface with no rocking.

And I plan on OCing a little bit which is why I want the cooler but if the bending of pipes renders it basically useless then there isn't a point.

yes send back to rma

cooper very soft metal, wenn a littlebit scratsch is on it, it can just break very easy wenn its comes hot :)

Yeah, I agree. RMA dude.

I want you all to know something. What I was describing appears to be just how the pipes are. I noticed on the box and photos online have the same thing lol. I'm a moron.

If only I would've seen this BEFORE I installed the stock cooler and had my setup finished. Sigh

Oh crud! LOL

Well just make sure you clean all the gunk from the stock CPU off very well before you install the new cooler.

Yeah I'm super paranoid about applying thermal paste and such so I'm going to be super careful. But my new build is up and purring like a wildebeast. WOOOOOOOOOO

vury naice

a wild beast..... rawrrr sexy hihih ☻

LOL @MisteryAngel

Great to hear! Run a few benchmarks for us to see how it performs!
