Installing Drivers (pce ac66 fixed)

Decided to try Linux, research told me Mint would be best for me. So I'm Using Mint 17.2 Cinnamon. Then I started to break down. Haven't thrown the PC across the room yet... Booting off usb drive so I haven't done any damage to windows 10.

Using a PCE AC66 (fuck you asus, quit your job jayjay they don't deserve you)
Managed to get ndiswrapper (windows wireless driver installer, felt like a pro) and asus drivers have no .inf file. I eventually stumbled on an AC66 driver online that had a .inf file in it. Installed and says the hardware is detected.

Under youtube instruction I then entered sudo modprobe ndiswrapper hit enter and it seems nothing happened. Then I was instructed to enter sudo ndiswrapper -m (then the same replaced with -mi and -ma). Didn't work, did I do something wrong, or is there another way? I'll be on in about 6 hours to try and figure this out. Any help much appreciated.

Edit* Found this thread if anyone else needs it, installed nicely.

You'll have to be more specific. "X and Y didn't work" is not enough information. For example you may want to post the output of the commands you use.
Also make sure the ndiswrapper module is loaded (lsmod | grep ndiswrapper)

Well the "sudo modprobe ndiswrapper" showed a blank space like nothing happened, good sign? I'll be on my PC for a copy paste of the other command results and to try the one you gave me. Thanks, I'm trying here. Big learning curve.

Edit* here it is
mint@mint ~ $ lsmod | grep ndiswrapper
mint@mint ~ $ sudo modprobe ndiswrapper
mint@mint ~ $ sudo mdiswrapper -m
sudo: mdiswrapper: command not found
mint@mint ~ $ sudo ndiswrapper -m

I've been waiting for 3 years for a solution to that very problem. The answer is getting bookmarked for future reference when I have enough moola for another 250GB SSD to put linux on.

Sounds good, check out Trisquel Gnu/Linux when you have some time. Recommended by Richard Stallman himself. Very freedom based and easy to use, coming from someone who has been using Gnu/Linux for a whole 2 weeks. lol

I was originally interested in Mint and Ubuntu 2.5-3 years ago but they still didn't have support for the AC66 broadcom NIC device yet which made me stuck without options to have to use Win 7.

Dude, I got bored. I rebuilt a PC from old FX-8350 hardware I had lying around. LOL It has a Wireless G card in it so I can download and install Trisquel to it. I'm interested since you mentioned it because it has a windows'esque start menu.

EDIT: Update on my endeavors to find a linux replacement for windows. Trisquel 7.0 LTS GNU/Linux installed. I installed AMD graphics drivers successfully and the bcml-kernel-source code. IT WORKS! haha.
Now I'm obligated to save money for a new SSD to transfer this install over to. In the mean time, I'm going to install this scavenged Seagate 160GB 2.5" laptop HDD into my main PC and just swap between drives in BIOS when I want to boot in to Linux or Win10.
