Instaling a SSD in a ASUS x550ln (Impossible!)

Hi,

For the past week or so I have been trying to change the 1tb HDD in my laptop to an SSD,

So I figured, Create a USB win 10 drive. install and everything will be fine. I was very very wrong.

I got that infamous "driver missing" problem when trying to load windows 10. I tried 1 million different fixes to get it working. Nothing worked.

So next was the good ol drive clone approach. 3 different cloning software's 2 different PCs. Still nothing!

I've tried threatening the laptop, begging it to work.

HELP! PLEASE!

Weird I have an x550ca and swapped it's hdd out for an ssd no problem

I did the same as you when my HHD broke. Have a Sandisk 240GB SSD in My Toshiba Satellite L850. I didn't have any problems when ttrying to install Windows 10 other than verification problems which wasn't too hard to fix. You might want to try installing Linux on it to see if an OS will work at all.
