Initial D fans?

Soo happy now that season 5 is back on for Initial D. I've waited oh so long! Anyone else big fans of Takumi and his AE86? I've actually been looking for an 86 on Craigslist, but wiht no avail here.

They are pretty easy to find but they tend to sell for over $10k. They have been a collectors car since that platform decided to go FF. Usually when you find them cheap they are really screwed up or don't have engines in them. One for sale down the road with no interior for $4k sitting in a driveway. Literaly no seats or stearing wheel.

Big fan here too. Didn't know stage 5 was on, kinda haven't been keeping up with it since I finished stage 4. At least I know now, thank!

LOVE Initial D, have it all on DVD and have seen it like 4 times through! Can't stand the music in the english dub among other stuff about it though lol. But, I hadn;t heard they were making more episodes, this is awesome news! Thanks for the heads up man, I'll have to be on the lookout for the episodes!

Yea I used to watch it, when I was in 3rd grade I was obssesed with the commics. Way before drifting hit the US by storm. Not so much into it anymore though. I don't recomend looking at the hachi (short of Hachiroku, which means 86 in Japanese) market right now, and if you are I recomend the Coupe not the Hatchback. They're absurdly over priced because it's got three things going against it, Keiichi Tsuchiya, Initial D, and Drift tax. What this means is ALL the inflated prices.

A show room clean car will set you back over 10Gs, a junker will be like 3.5-5k, an SR-5 with the SOHC carbed POS motor is quite a bit cheaper and you can swap whatever you want into it then. While I love the car as much as the next guy, I'm not stupid, it's not worth it. If you want a car that's just as good then look at the TE7#/KE7# cars. One generation older than the AE86, RWD aswell, but lighter weight, stiffer chassis, and MUCH cheaper. You can also fit suspension and chassis mods to them as the mounting points are the same just fron wheels need upgraded camber plates to acheive the same results. You can pick up a 4AGE for pretty cheap now, or even the supercharged 4AGZE supercharged version. They're still great cars, and actually I've grown to like them MORE than the AE86. How I helped.

If you want to find a nice AE86 click here, Classifieds for Club4AG. Probably the home of all Hachi lovers. You can also post in the WTB area an/or just browse the site for other junk.

I watched up to the 4th season then moved to Japan (specifically Shibukawa, Gunma, Japan... the Town where Initial D is based) I got a Nissan Silvia and learnt how to drift (Though I am far from good at it :P).

The 5th season came out here and I just can't keep watching it. There is so much extra bullshit that the producers add in that has nothing to do with the reality of it all.

Initial D had a fantastic apeal to me in the past but now I live it. Drifters are not the boring, woman shunning, technical, otaku types in the series. They are construction workers, mechanics, farmers and highschool dropouts. They are fun  and exciting people who fall far outside the mold of normal Japanese society. More than anything,  they drift for the sheer fun of it. The same reason I drift. The initial D world is a great fiction. but the reality of going sideways on Mt.Haruna (Akina) and Mt.Akagi is far far better.

Peeps sometimes ask me if I play the initial D game. I say That I do. I play 'Initial D Stage REAL'

I'm a bit of a fan of it. I've only seen the first three seasons though, I just don't have time to sit and watch it as much as I'd like to.

I am a fan of the 86 though but I agree with the guys above they're just too overpriced now. For the cost of an 86 in fair condition I could get a fresh import S15 Silvia.

If I had the money I'd probably get S13/180SX and make myself a SilEighty though, That can be blamed on Initial D too.

love initial D. watched all the episodes available on netflix, didnt even know there were more seasons, where can I watch them?

lol just found stage 5 on anime freak. only thing I can say is excellent

Man...........I have followed this freaking seris for years! LOL. I have been mostly reading the

manga ever since it was fan translated. Watching Initial D is just long to wait ever since as well. I also own an AE86 Coupe and it is sure is a pita since it is hard to get stuff for it. I have been on Club4AG for years and see it all. AE86 is now a collectors car for sure and prices have been going up. But odd to see SR5 going up in price.

love Initial D i have all 4 seasons and the live action movie been watching series 5, i just cant wait till the new episodes are out in 2 weeks time

Love Initial D, been keeping track of Fifth Stage on IDForum. Good luck trying to look for AE86 I'm also looking for one as well specifically the GT-S Hatch. If anything you might come across a GT-S 2Door Coupe more or less. The GT-S Hatch is rare. If you just want just the looks then a SR5 should be easy to find but expensive because of the demand.

Agreed, Initial D is one of the best auto related anime shows. The cars in it are just the best of Japanese craftsmanship. However, is the AE86 Trueno sold in the US? I thought it was for the Japanese market only like the R32-R34. I've been looking at an early 2000's MX-5 as a first car. What do you guys think of the MX-5?

It's slow. Much like the Hachiroku. It has a cult following and a legend that goes beyond it's specs but the cost of making the Nissan Silvia handle better than both of them is negligable and it has a goodly deal more power stock. But who keeps things stock?

To know how the MX-5 is, its is best to take a test drive. Of course theres the cult depending on where you live and there are those who do engine swaps(RX7 FC or FD 13b turbo in MX-5). The AE86 is in the US, instead of it being GT-Apex its GT-S with Vin usually being AE88 while some being AE86 but usually the SR5 has this which does not have the 4A-G but a 4A-C. With money and know how the 4A-G can get from around 112hp to 300+. SR5, GT-S or MX-5 which ever is usually used for fun(drifting and track) and budget then for serious performance(high power). The Silvia(240sx) has a more wider range of tuning options but is difficult to get a low cost one thats in good condition. What ever you choose just have fun doing so.

Initial D is what really got me into drifting (per se, I don't have a car yet). I'm looking into a S13 and doing an RB26 swap, but that seems highly unrealistic considering school is expensive. Anyways, have you guys seen Wangan Midnight, I also enjoyed that show, but it's by no means better than Initial D.

An S13 with RB26 is an insane setup. Price is expensive because the need to import the engine from Europe or Japan and all the fabrication needed to make it fit in the S13 but its possible. Theres a guy I know whos going to put a V8 in his Hachi(SR5) XD. Wangan Midnight is pretty good. People who played TXR and other games using the same roads would be more familiar with it.

My cousins husband did it, and it's simply amazing! It's a dream right now, I don't see it happening in the next 10 years, unless I win the lottery. Right now I'm aiming for a Gen 8 or 9 Lan Evo.

it made me buy a skyline for drift and mountain runs.

when do the new episodes come out? and where do you watch them?
