Incorrect report of monitor refresh rate by games

Recently I noted that Witcher3 (Proton-5.9-GE-5-ST) is limiting to max 60 fps whereas before it was 75, which is my monitor refresh rate.

I use xrand for the configuration and it shows the screen is at 75, so I wonder if rxanrd is incorrectly reporting, or something broke in some recent update (5.6.19-2-MANJARO().

Have you tried switching between RGB and YUV display modes?

Many thanks! I looked into it and it seems to modify EDID with some non-official tools. This is a machine I also use for work, so I am not risking.

Another thing I’ve been checking is that maybe it was my mind playing triks. I am sure to have set it to 75 at some point, but googling it seems this is not possible :man_shrugging:, also checked on Windows. So I’ll assume it’s me.

Oddly enough I find the image to be more fluid with capped 60fps than uncapped, with runs at 90. Specially on Windows, even run a test with vrrtest and it seems freesync on Linux is not as good as in Windows. Won’t change for that, but I wonder if it’s me or is real.
