In search of a laptop for Quakecon BYOC

•Budget. Preferably less than $1k, absolutely not above $1.2k
•Where do you live Murica
•Is there a retailer you prefer? Microcenter
•What will you be using your Glorious computer for? Gaming and school come fall
•What kind of settings do you like or what FPS do you want to play at? settings don't matter if I can get 60fps
•What resolution will you be playing at? 1080p only, no 4k shit
•What kind of games do you like to play? Literally everything
•What specific game will you be playing. Crossout, Minecraft with shaders, normal LAN games (xonotic, quake live, stuff like that), Ark: Survival Evolved if it can handle it.

If you Render or Edit things-
•What application do you use to render? Literally movie maker to throw together clips from LANs

Other requirements:
Must be new, never used. Refurbished is acceptable if done by factory.
Minimum 1050 2GB dGPU or amd equivalent, 1050 4GB is what I'm aiming for.

I'm listening for the latest generation of ryzen APU's but right now its at "launching 2H 2017" If we've learned anything from Vega, its not happening before the end of August.

I'm leaning towards this

Had a quick look at Microcenter's site and I think you're leaning towards the best one.

As for its ability to play Ark, a buddy of mine is a nolife Ark addict (over 2.8K hours on record, 142h in last 2 weeks :astonished: according to Steam), plays 1080p on high settings with an i5-2500 and a 4GB 960. So I wouldn't worry about that 7700HQ and that 1050ti being able to handle the game.

Was gonna say no clevo but if he uses corporate sales wizardry, I'd consider.

You can get an oryx pro for like 1300 with a 1060 my dude.

100 dollars is very difficult for a working man

Mow some lawns or mine some btc or something.

Standard suggestion.

Alienware 15 with a 1060 for $1088.

We sell MSI notebooks too...

I'll talk about it on discord later then.
