I'm having a problem with my computer

So the problem is that my monitor screen tuns black and all i can do is use my cursor soo if im watching a video the sound cuts out and basically everything that im doing turns off and it wont go back till i turn my computer off then on again. my monitor my key bored my mouse and desk top are all still on just the screen is black i thought the problem was my drivers but they are all up to date. it always happens randomly yesterday it happened every time i opened day z standalone but then it happened when i was on another game and it also happened when i was just on youtube.  idk how to fix it. please help.

Can you hit Ctrl + Shift + Esc? If the cursor is still there your graphics are fine, but could be overwhelmed.

i havnt tried that soo next time it happens ill try. and what do you mean by overwhelmed?

i have windows 7 ultimate and my card is a asus 7870. how do i open the bios?

ohh okay i get it

i have only had this computer for about 6 month's all brand new parts and my specs are amd 8350 black edition 8g of ram asus 7870 120g ssd 1tb wd black and it has just recently started about a week ago i havnt changed anything in settings or tried to over clock    it just randomly started. but when it happens againill try windows D

it just happened and window d didnt work and i didnt have my cursor there any more. could it be my monitor or my ssd? because my ssd is where my windows is installed?

Don't really want to hijack this thread but i get this sometimes when I open TechPowerUp GPU-Z. (Which is weird).

I don't think its the ssd because I had my ssd for so long and its only become a problem when a got my R9 270 last October. I think its the amd drivers.

I had a similar problem that was caused by me braking windows. I had just finished a new build and had a Video card die on me, so I got a replacement. I was having issues with the replacement and thought it was because it was seeing fragments of the last installation. To make a long story short I used system restore and it failed and after replacing that card and getting everything working, I had various odd issues. So I just reinstalled windows and now everything works great. That's my 2 cents.
