So I watched Clannad and Clannad After Story. Bawled my eyes out like you wouldn't believe. And now I want more. What animes can you suggest that are in the same line as Clannad that will bring me to tears or give me a super happy ending to a really cute relationship.
Sci fi is kind of a turn off but if it's really well animated I'll make an exception.
The only relationshipy anime I have ever watching and I am kind of ashamed to admit this was Spice and Wolf, it was actually pretty good and seems along the lines of what you are looking for.
Ichigo 100% isn't exactly sad, but the romance was awesome and the ending had me thinking ''why?''
Chobits is sadder. It's actually cute, but suggests a dark and heavy theme.
Code Geass is my personal favorite. Plot twists, characters you can love or hate, romance and a dash of fan service. The ending had me thinking of what might happen next. The OST was phenomenal, it was timed perfectly with the scene. Ending had me tear up a little.
Sword Art Online has a hint of sadness, and my second favorite. I love the concept and romance. The first season's ending theme was beautiful.
This one isn't for the anime part. This is for the crying part. Hatchi was really sad. It really made me cry.
I can't think of anything else right now. I'll come back when I think of more.
Xam'd: Lost Memories had a really emotional ending from what I remember. Fantastic anime. I think the dubbed version is on Netflix still, but I recommend THORA's fansub from ages ago because I can for-sure say the acting is up to par. Plus, those guys in the fansubber community are very passionate about superb video quality, haha. They do good work.
My probably favorite 2 Anime are: FullMetal Alchemist and DeathNote. FMA can get relatively deep and DeathNote is just THAT anime that you must watch, it's incredibly brilliant.
Here's what you should do. Search for anime/ manga using genres that you like, or by just using Google( preferably a finished one, but an open one might be better as well). Then start reading it. Then get attached to it. Then finish it.
Trust me, after finishing one, I always get depressed and empty inside. Sometimes I tear up. And if it's something I really got attached to, I'd be depressed for days/ weeks and be thinking about it every other second.
