Ideas For old laptop use?

HI guys and girls,

Got an old netbook sitting round with no use right now. Any ideas on what I could do with it? Even like some sort of networking or linux thing?

No longer used and I thought I might see if you guys have any suggestions on what to do with it.

Could turn it into a HTPC. I did it with an old laptop I had lying around, used OpenELEC for the OS.

Could you please give me a full,outline of what your HTPC allows you to do? Im kinda new to networking.

You could set up some sort of server (mail, nas, etc) or just install some light version of Linux (ex. Linux Mint XFCE) and use it as a daily laptop. You could also sell the laptop, but because of it being a netbook you'd be lucky to get $150 or less. 

Also: if you end up setting it up as some sort of server, you'd probably want a cooling pad for it so it doesn't overheat.
