Ideal speaker set up for a computer

im looking to invest in some speakers for my pc. i use it for everything including games, tv, movies, and music. What set up would someone recommend in the $500? Would it also be better to invest in actual home theater speakers rather than say the z5500s?

thanks

Steven

Z5500s are the way to go, z906 would save you some cash but the difference in quality is noticeable

for 500 you might as well get a home theater in a box with speakers

Z5500 speakers are not that great. I have owned them

this is what I use now

For 500 dollars? That's hardly a budget at all... Get some Polk Monitor 40's, and a decent Yamaha receiver.

I would just go through TD, Newegg, etc. looking at the home theater boxes. I plan to have a similar setup.

Don't buy anything gimmicky...logitech for example, you're going to be overpaying if you go that route.

Head-Fi.org if you're serious about finding something that sounds great, invest in a nice sound card as well.

dont listen to this man who speaks logic..... you need to buy dr.dre beats..... it sounds better because they have his name on it and is just way too bass heavy....
