i7 4790K 5Ghz at 1.4v? gets to hot on water. obviously

so yeah i have a 5Ghz 4790K but it gets way to hot even on my H100i fans and pump maxed at 1.4v

4.8Ghz at 1.3v is where im happy. it doesnt go abouve 88C at max. which can you ever max out a 4790k in the real world?

5.0 ghz range needs custom cooling and delidding to properly cool.

hmm im think what if i made a freon pump on my CPU. basically a refrigirator. would that keep it chill lol. im will to test it on my old Athlon x4 860K lol

damn nice i should see this lol

phase change is expensive as hell to set up and to run, and it's loud don't even bother.

couldnt i pull out a pump from my old freezer lol

Right? I think my 140xl is loud lol. I can only imagine what that sounds like.

If your case can handle it, the Cooler Master 280l is a fantastic aio, and the swiftech H240-X is expandable however requires maintenance.

Please. No. Just... No

those are not meant for a constant thermal load, rather like get something cold and keep it there. And that something wont give off heat.

well it could be a gehtto style sub zero pump lol like i said im willing to test it on my old 5Ghz Athlon 860K lol

Old? That CPU is a monster

ah okay i got it. but id still like to just try it for fun lol like i said on my 50 dollar Athlon lol

lol its my first 5Ghz chip lol

Shit, go for it man. At least film it so we can see what happens.

That Athlon is nearly as good as an i5 in terms of gaming. Seriously. Someone could use that lol

This sounds risky

lol but even at 5Ghz it bottlenecked my 270x 4GB OC
