Ok, so, I just a new 3770k from microcenter. I brought it home, thinking good thoughts, coveting the box, loving life. When I got home though, I noticed the actual CPU is about 1/2-1/4 of an inch off from the cut out to show it. Upon further expection the box has scratches all over it (the cpu its self looks fine)
Should I be worried? I haven't/can't test it yet (staying at my aunts house for the next couple of weeks) and I'm super worried I got a used/returned one or something. I payed 249.99 after tax @ microcenter for it. Once again, SHOULD I be worried?
My i7 3770k was also 1/2 an inch off of the display cut-out. The box didn't have scratches, but my CPU still works fantastic! Try it out in your motherboard, but take pictures before, during, and after the installation to verify that it wasn't you, just in case they ask for it.
Ok thanks :) Rest of system hasn't arrived at my actual house yet, but they should be by the time i get home. I really ope it works alright ;p So tempting to pop open the seal and check it out but I don't wanna void anything
