i5 3570k Asrock Z77 Extreme 4 Overclocking Problems

Hi,

i just built my second PC and wanted to overclock my CPU, so i followed common instructions in the internetz.

I tested a 4,1 Ghz overclock for 2-3 Hours with Prime95 and everything was stable, the temps were around 72° at max, voltages topped out at around 1,17-1,18v. When i rebooted my PC due to some updates nothing worked anymore and i had to reset my bios to standard settings.

So because im fairly new to overclocking and and stuff i wanted to ask you why this happens.

Thanks in advance

Did you Oc in the Bios or with a program ?

via the bios

Did you have to clear CMOS to boot? What are your settings in the BIOS for your voltages? Are you running fixed or an offset? Have you messed with your RAM? Take a screenshot or two of your different OC settings. I am using the same CPU and mobo in my build. I would say you could try mocking my settings but thats never a good idea as every build has different variables. If you can give more information I may be able to help out further.

ugh, i solved the problem... the idiots send me the wrong cpu (3570 without k) and i didnt notice, i've got the right one now and everything works quite good :D
