Does anyone know for sure if all 4 ports still work at a potentially diminished speed or if it disable ones of the ports?
I’ve dug around the internetz and could not get a validation on the I340-T4 (or any intel quad ports?) behavior in a PCIe x1 slot (open back in my case).
Assumptions abound that the PCIe standard requires it work and adapt to the speeds.
Intel says : " Enables quad-port operation in almost any PCI Express server slot, except x1 slots"
L1 forum post (did not necro it) indicates a hint it might disable a port if he didn’t really have a bad card.
