I apologize in advance, I am fairly new at building PC's, so my verbage may be a tad off. But I would like to spend probably around $450~$500 on a gaming computer that can run graphic intense games on high settings with fps around 60+. I would prefer not to mess with any type of over clocking.
I am debating over a i3-3220 vs AMD CPU. Roughly want to pay around the same price (~$130).Do any of you have any suggestions that might be comparable (or better) to the i3, around the same price?
I am thinking about pairing these with a HD 7770, but am also open to any suggestions on the graphics card, also around the same price (~$140).
Your not going to have a whole lot of luck getting to that 60+ fps on just a 7770 at any graphicaly intense settings. Especially without overclocking. If you'd like an idea on where to look for some components check out Logan's $550 gaming PC. He lists all the components that he would use for a build around your price.
If you dont plan on overclocking then the i3 will out perform the AMDs (at the same price range) in gaming. If you overclock the FX6300 it would match the i3 in gaming and destroy in the rest.
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/rKGN this will be good for gaming. you could also hold off on the GPU for a couple weeks and save up for a 7870 witch would give you a nice boost.
edit: i added a case. not sure if thats needed so add or delete it. also didnt add OS.
I have heard that Six Core Processor's arent very good for gaming? (I could be wrong here) Can anyone else recommend a better AMD for the same price? As I said before, I prefer not to overclock, but will if I need too.
