I would like to get a new motherboard AM3+

I want a new motherboard and im looking at the ASRock 990FX Killer AM3+ ATX  Motherboard. I don't really like ASRock that much, but i have heard nothing but good from this board. I would like to know how high quality it is. I'm running a 8320 and 2 7870s and would like some more space. Anything will help thanks!

I love my Gigabyte board and with 2 7870s the more X16/x8 slots the better and this happens to have 2 x16 and 2 x4 for whatever other expansion cards you might have. Also the 8+2 power phase is pretty good for OCing

Maybe you should think about changing platforms instead of getting a nice, shiny, expensive mobo for a dead platform. Intel is running away with in-game performance as it is. Aside from that. Asus' AM3+ boards are pretty great. Sabertooth is one to look at. The ASRock Killer is also a good choice fwir.

Asus sabertooth and formula v are better cause the as rock has vdroop

Asrock 990FX killer, is basicly a very nice boards with allot of cool feutures towards gamers.

However  its not the best overclockers boards, If you wanne overclock a FX 8 core on this particular board, above 4.5GHz, then the mosfets and vrm´s start to run hot, and causing voltage drops. Normaly this isnt realy a big issue, but this particular board does not have LLC option in the bios, to correct those voltage drops, so it automaticly results in cpu throttle.

So if you are just a gamers and dont wanne go too crazy about overclocking, then its a good board. But if you are an diehard overclocker, or tempting to become one, then stay away from this board.

Thank you that was what i wanted to know! My Gigabyte board is ok for over clocking but not the best because it is the 970 series. Thanks once again

if you want hard OC, asus crosshair formula V or sabertooth

  1. Asus crosshair V Formula Z
  2. ASrock 990FX Extreme 9
  3. Asus 990FX Sabertooth R2.0
  4. Asus M5A99FX pro R2.0

p.s chipset doesnt matter for overclocking.

whic board do you have?

Gigabyte 970 A-UD3

Do you have issues with that board?
