I was offered two Titan Blacks

"Usually ships in one to two months" Right across the front of the page.

it's out of stock right now. it's a new product, what do you expect?
it's not gonna take that long.

Wait 2 months or make a terrible buy for the titans... seems like a no brainer

Do not anger the Mumble-goers lest the smack-down be delivered.

Besides, waiting for the Fury X and the performance increase is totally worth it. Titan Blacks are only getting slower with age, nVidia is making sure of that.

There are better options then both. IS EVERYONE FORGETTING THIS? The 980 ti as fast, and you can buy one for $650 TODAY. The Fury NON X is coming out in 6 days, and its going to be much better in price to performance from what we've seen. The 980 TI hasn't had huge driver refinements either, and it will get better as well as the Fury X. The original 780 has like 5% faster months after it came out, just from drivers. Where the 980 ti and Fury X will fall in 2 months will be completely different.

You are right man I was wrong

uhh... yes it has. it's been out for a fairly long time.
nvidia is anticompetitive. that's why.
they contractually prevent game devs from working with amd to improve drivers.

im gonna be the bigger man here and concede.. as an answer to the OP... get the furys.. its always better to generally get a new card... At least it will be a good card for what you wish to do..

Considering your original options.. Most definitley Go AMD...

But the 980 ti is a cut down titan x its drivers are more than fully refined

Nobody is forgetting other options, but the debate was Titan Black vs Fury X. You were not including other options from the start so don't toss them in now to try and prove a point. That is a different debate.

Nvidia releases driver updates every couple days, with all the patch notes reading 'sli profiles improvements'. I know, as a Gtx 770 user the geforce experience popups piss me off. Nvidia and AMD make tweaks for months and months, and more sedimentary drivers for BOTH the 980 ti and Fury X will come later.

And there is still a point to be made about the availability of the cards and pricing for when the Fury X is available.

the card just came out, what do you expect?

Those driver updates are because game devs now relegate Nvidia to fix their games for them through driver updates. Its less about eeking out performance and more about putting in performance that was supposed to be there in the first place.

The problem isn't that the card just came out. Its about the fact that AMD's yields of Fury X have been tiny, and we know this. There hasn't been any sign that this has been improved. So the logical assumption is that it will sit in this kind of state of constantly going in and out of availability. With weird pricing and weird places to get them. We have been hearing about yield problems since before the launch: http://www.tweaktown.com/news/45835/amd-radeon-fury-rumored-limited-30-000-units-2015/index.html We don't have concrete numbers, but we know that NCIX didn't even get cards on launch day. This is a problem we have to account for.

titan black is about 20-50% slower than fury x; if that's about it.

15% is closer to the mark.

15% is still a LOT

15% is to 980; and we've seen 980 not faring good enough against fury x

Titan Black is pretty much unlocked 780 ti with more memory and unlocked dual precision flops;

titan black ~ is on par with 290x non-ref models

they had some bad initial runs for the review cards... nvidia has pretty poor yield for the titan black and all
