I was looking for a new USB microphone and i came across the blue yeti, røde podcaster, and the at2020. But it seems that it's about 50/50 with every review on high-end USB microphones. Personally i prefer the sound of the podcaster, but i am not getting a new microphone to sound better to myself. So i wanted to ask what you guys thought i should get. Preferably a major brand. I live in a very small country so most brands do not exist here.
I will be using it for recording vocals for pod casting, livestreaming, commentating, and maybe a bit of singing.
Any advise on cheaper microphones would also be appreciated very much.
I own the at2020 (not usb-version!) and I think it would suit your needs. I don't know how good the built in ADConverter is, but I think it will be most likely be good enough for your purpose.
How long do you have it from you when you speak, because i am going to have mine about 1 meter away. Because the stands is pretty expensive where i live.
Do you think i will be fine using it like that. Also if i where to get a pop filter for the at2020 (which the røde does not really need) it would be the same price as the røde podcaster with a stand.
The blue Yeti is a epic mic, the at2020 is better. I have seen people work fine without a popfilter for gaming but you will need one for singing. The at2020 is a upgrade from the blue yeti IMO.
