I want Speed Metal

I don't know why, but I am in a mood for speed metal and I don't know that many.

Can you guys recommend me some bands? That would be great.

some parts are speedy

Well there's the melodic virtuoso kind like this:

and

and of course

and Joe is a classic/the best

You might recognize this next one as Coldplay stole it and made the popular single Viva La Vida out of it..

Nice picks, never thought of Joe as metal though. This whole genres of metal stuff is a challenge. All Metal is Metal in my world. So yeah Joe and Steve kick ass.

Yeah I know what you mean, I do really like sensible yet accurate and almost pin point genres so that I know what i'm looking for. The whole are AC/DC and Rage Against the Machine and Van Halen metal thing is hard..

I include them all in the Metal family, like if i'm playing a bunch of metal and they come on then it just feels the same, but i would call AC/DC hard rock/rock 'n roll (early) and RATM Funk or whatever, but I would call Van Halen more Glam metal, than glam rock.

Kinda going on a bit here but I actually call all Glam "rock" metal because you can't really have that much distortion and soloing and high pitch singing/screaming like Motley does and have it be "rock". Althou8gh it gets mighty hard when you try to define Twisted Sister.. wow.. like they definitely have quite light distortion and rock like solos, but the band looks metal an very much stands for it so yeah..

But that's getting a bit much into it haha

Have you heard of Persefone? They're a pretty obscure band from Andorra. They combine a lot of different sub-genres, like progressive, technical, melodic, and symphonic metal. They're one of my favorite bands. They get pretty freaking technical at certain points in all their tracks.

That video contains the whole album, but I had it start at one of my favorite tracks. It is absolutely worth listening to, even if it's not what you were looking for originally. It's truly a work of art.

Unfortunately, their drummer left the band about two months ago. It was on good terms, but he was the main reason I fell in love with this band. I hope they can find a new drummer that's as good as him.

I Recommend this, i think you'll like this:)

Not speed at all..

Pretty damn sure Darkthrone is (or, was) a black metal band.

They were a Black Metal Band. Now they've been doing that Classic Sounding Metal / Punk Music. It's not bad it's just We are used to their Black Metal so seeing them do this type of music is weird to adapt to if that makes sense.

No this is pretty speed metal. Older Darkthrone is definitely not speed though.

Yeah, but I see no speed though. there's no solos or fast riffs, just the high pitch old school metal sound.

I don't know anything about "Speed Metal" but I do like Tech Death which is really fast, though it might not be what you are wanting.

Fleshgod Apocalypse, The Faceless, and Hour of Penance to name a few off the top of my head.

"Speed Metal" was the Original name of what we know of today as "Thrash Metal".
