You are missing the point with the out of context quotes. I don’t like Apple, in fact it represents everything I despise in a software ecosystem, but just because I don’t like them does not mean I am unable to see what can be done with their resources.
Anyway is not like a single company -no matter how powerful or evil- could do anything about Linux, by its very open nature is not something that could be controlled so… cool story bro I guess.
Edit: One additional note about resources, the impact that Valve is having on Linux, yes those resources are very welcome. That kind of influence is very notable and makes me think about possibilities, like the EU getting funding for Linux for example.
