I know it says like $586 but microcenter gives you $40 off a mobo when you buy a cpu there so its really $546.
Hows it look? I'm hoping I finally did about as good as I can on it for a bro.
That motherboard doesn't have sufficient power phases for the FX 8xxx chips. Drop the CPU down to a 6300, or try to find an M5A97 EVO R2.0. The EVO has a 6+2 power phase design.
Other than that, it looks pretty good.
Where do I look to see if a mobo has that?
Google "model" power phase. M5A97 is 4+2 and the M5A97 EVO is 6+2
The only thing I would change is the PSU. I like the EVGA 500B for the price. Seems to use same or better parts. And the fan is ball bearing instead of sleeve bearing. They can do annoying clicking or rattle when mounted with the fan down.
Yikes! When I google that its like $120, and Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0. is less than that. I think I'll just go that route.
If you cant find the Evo for a good price this one has a 8+2 power phase

Also check if you microcenter has this one. I think it would be worth the 10 dollars.

The build seems pretty good to me, considering it only costs ~$550. The only thing I would change is the GPU to a more reliable brand like Club 3D because PowerColor has a bad reputation when it comes to reliability.
Asus M5A97 Evo isn't very popular in the states. The Asus M5A99X Evo R2.0 is more popular, and often cheaper.
The ASRock 990fx Fatal1ty is also a good board, and usually cheaper than the M5A99FX Pro R2.0
They have the gigabyte but not the asrock, at least not right now because it says out of stock.
