Just a quick question. How would I(if it is possible) go about completely removing iOS from my iPhone 4 and putting on a custom one? Yes I know that this is very difficult but ideas are ideas. Just curious. I know that "projects" like this are easier on Android.
you would have to be extremely intune with the hardware that is in the iPhone. When people make phones they design the software and hardware around eachother. So it would be incredibly difficult to make a functioning one and have it be compatible. But you would start by flashing everything and just deleting everything at the lowest level possible. I doubt you can do it. Also you would have to be prepared for Apple to send their Spec Ops Soldiers after you.
It has been done but not very well. The iPhone archutecture is different and so if you where to do this, you would have to build a completly unieque OS to even work on the iPhone. Unless you are a true wizzard with tech and iPhones, its not going to hapen. It takes the best minds just to crack the software, They havent even worked out how to install custom os's
Yeah as anon said, people have tried before and have had no success, even on early gen iPhones.
I'm pretty sure I've seen a couple of videos of iPhones running some windows/linux softwares, not sure on how good it was tho... Youtube probably has that for you
