I testdrove 3 Tesla model S yesterday

I never wanna drive a regular car again.

I went down to my local Tesla which was only about maybe 25 minutes away from me and they were kind enough to let me test drive 3 separate model s's in different configurations

I stepped on the accelerator.
And my Branium shat in its cranium.

The middle one 90d
I was completely blown away by the first car the middle and one I stepped on the gas and it was like a dream
it shot me back into my chair and held me there and I was completely amazed.

Then we tested the cheapest one because I wanted to see what the absolute cheapest one that I could possibly afford would be

The 60D
The base model with the smallest battery and the weakest everything

I hit the gas and it felt like the only thing holding me on planet Earth was the damnable force of gravity and reality
Compared to the middle one I noticed it was not as hard of an acceleration
The 0 to 60 speed is roughly one second slower than the middle one

The Tesla P90D.
Even after driving around the other two that are stupidly fast
: When I hit the gas for the first time in insanity mode acceleration
I literally started laughing my ass off it was f****** completely amazing
It does not even f****** compared to the other two cars
THE Fast one. P90D
Roughly 1 second faster than the middle one.
0-60 in 3.2
The one I drove did not have ludicrous mode.
(As low as 2.6 with insanity and ludicrous launchmode, or so I hear.)
I was a stoplight with nothing in front of me and it accelerated so fast I actually started to blackout
My eyesight went fuzzy

You could feel all of the blood in your head get shot to the back of your skull.

By the time I let off of the gas I was almost an entire block ahead of the people I left at the light
I was already doing almost 80Mph
And they had not even made it halfway through the intersection yet

I got to that place at 1 p.m. and I left at 5:50 p.m. and during all of that time that one guy that was working with me was just cheerfully talking to me about the cars
letting me test drive stuff

I don't even know if this poor guy had lunch before I got there
but they were very cheerful
everyone I talked to seemed ready to help

I would definitely say that the most trippy thing about all of that test driving was the steering wheel
it is totally not running off a hydraulic system
If you told me that it was running off of hydraulic system I would not believe it

I honestly don't know what type of steering it is if it's electric power-assisted steering or what but it is so smooth it is very smooth

Sounds cool, how was the vehicle noise? I mean they have to go the extra mile making them quiet since it has no engine sound, I've had people tell me the tire noise was the only thing they noticed (pavement noise).

The loudest thing is the air conditioner
When the air conditioner is on you can actually feel the car sort of hum or vibrate because of the fan and the pump
With everything rolled up Windows and all air conditioning off and the radio off in its most silent State

the only thing you can hear really is an electric sort of windup
as your Motors get higher and higher RPM you can't really even hear the wheels on the road

but you do hear the sound of the air rushing past and that little wine of the motor getting to a higher frequency

Technically that location is not even a car dealership
because you cannot purchase a car there

they actually lead you over to a computer and you just sign into your Tesla account at Tesla.com

and you place your order right from the web page

even if you walked in with $100,000 you could not drive off of the car lot with a new Tesla because they deliver it to your house right to your driveway a couple of weeks later

I'm guessing that helps them avoid certain regulations or fees doing it that way

Long story short.
If you have a tesla near you.
On your next day off
Just call em up amd say.
Hey id like to come in and do a testdrive.

It was the most fun ive had in a Long time.

Geez, your post makes me want to test out a Tesla. Hope the Model M becomes a great car.

the rumor mill says its coming out @ 35k usd base

that was verified when Tesla unveiled the car during a special presentation.

yeah

While pretty neat, I do too much long distance driving to make one viable. Once infrastructure is built up I will consider one.

depending on where you live yeah,

even the smallest battery the 60kw/h
for me would get me from san leandro ca to kent Wa
with 4-5 stops and a total trip time estimate of 15 hours
with no stop being longer than 30-40 minutes

I don't live on the east or west coast. I have looked into it is not viable for me, yet.

up to date map of the usa

Nearest one is over 100 miles from me. Thanks for the link though.

daaang

buuttt

just sayyyinnnn

you could drive 200 miles round trip
and still have 100 miles left lol

Just out if curiosity, what have you driven previously?

Have you driven other high end cars like corvettes or the Cadillac Ats-v? Or is this your first time in a sports car?

And I'll never get one because they're too goddamned short.

mainly ive been in work trucks
farm equipment
smaller cars ect
cameros and mustangs tho as passenger

So basically you just experienced high end sports cars (comaros and mustangs are muscle cars). You are used to slower stuff so it seems so much faster.

This isn't as much about you driving a Tesla as you driving a sports car. I'll bet if you drove a corvette before a Tesla you would be saying the same thing about vetts.

ive been in vets and cameros and chargers
im not a driver in those,
but there is NOTHING like the electric power and instant torque in that tesla
my man panties are still wet

In all honesty I've gotten to drive one, and I wasn't as impressed as you seem to be. The torque is nice, but it's not 10000 nice. Need to get that air ride suspension before I'll consider one. Also make then about 6 inches taller to I don't have to bend over just to fit in the fucking car.
