So here I am building a PC for a client (http://pcpartpicker.com/user/folsom_prison_blues/saved/Cgjqqs) and the damn thing doesn't post. What could be wrong? I have the processor, RAM, and GPU all where they're supposed to be, and then I try to post it, it turns the fans on, but it doesn't display anything on my monitor.
Four pin EPS power connected?
Try booting with only one stick of RAM installed, then update your BIOS/EFI.
Okay, I just figured out that the RAM he has requested is, unfortunately, not compatible with the MoBo. So I'll order some compatible RAM and see if that works
According to PCpartpicker you need to do a BIOS update before you can use that CPU.
But here's the problem, and i'm ahving it right now with one of my other builds..
You need a CPU in the Motherboard to apply the BIOS update, but the motherboard will not post unless a CPU supported by it's current BIOS is inserted OR if you have an EZ flash thing on your Mobo, but I doubt that coz it's and older build that isn't extra fancy (same situation as me).
So if this IS the issue then you will need to either get another CPU just for updating the BIOS or you will need to get a new Motherboard, both are a pain in the ass unfortunately :/
Okay, so what I've done is that I bought an A4-4000 to put in the motherboard to see if I can run the update, but if I can't, then off to but a new mobo
