Alright, so I'm finally putting together my build and I'm having fun picking out my parts; however I'm having a bit of issue with the monitor. I'm looking for one that's around $129, or less that's still very solid. So, I'm just looking for possible recommendations. Also, if anyone knows where I could possibly get a cheaper copy of Windows, that'd be much appreciated.
So, what's your build?
1080p IPS is going to be about the best you can get outside of finding used 1600x1200 CRTs
Well, my build isn't final yet but I'm aiming for a middle of the road pc. I'm not looking to do 4k or anything like that, just a nice 1080 monitor I'm probably going to pair an i5 or 8350 with a 380.
Well this should have the lowest prices on components, you'd want an i5 over an FX 8 core unless maybe you're going to do streaming or heavy VM work.

I don't know if the windows 10 insider thing is still free, Otherwise not really any way to get windows for cheaper outside of the usual method of getting any software for free, you could buy a gray market key, but those may have been purchased illegally, and may be revoked at any time, and the company as screwed either way so you might as well just...
I kind of figured it was a shot in the dark with Windows, but just thought I'd ask. I'm honestly leaning more towards the FX because I do want to get into streaming, and i could get it a bit cheaper with some looking around. But, my build would probably be aomething like this: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Kenjionigod/saved/DsfQzy
used monitors! you can easily get a 1080p monitor used for less than $100 bukeros
Would it be better to go for a refurb through like Newegg or used through Ebay and the likes?
just check your local craigs list or kijiji.
test it before you buy and you're golden
I'm in Idaho, so I'm not too hopeful on looking through Craigslist to be honest.
Ya, naw you'd want a 990FX board as you need to OC to keep up in some games, really though you could just live without a case and get a Xeon 1231v3
@The_Space_Bear
and the monitor I linked was new for $100
