I need some help overclocking my Fury X

I've finally decided to actually oc my Fury X. So far I've only been able to get it to 1140MHz without crashing or doing weird thing so my next step would be to overvolt. However I've got almost no experience in overclocking and don't know what would be a safe voltage. Could anyone tell me a good method to safely oc and overvolt? Also what would be a good voltage to start with?

The Fury Cards Can't OC for shit, almost not even worth bothering with

Not even when overvolted? I haven't really seen anyone overvolt these things things so I was interested

Wonderfully terrible advice. Maybe try helping instead.

If you aren't experienced with overvolting, it's best to not do it. You could and should get 1100 - 1125MHz without any extra voltage at all, just increase your power limit to 15-20% (sometimes increases coil whine).

I'll try that once I get home. Im just wondering hat the actual difference between power limit and voltage is. And also something I just remembered is, is it even safe to raise the power limit on a fury x with a 700 watt psu?

Furys don't OC great, you can use Afterburner to increase voltage, but it doesn't make much difference, i was able to go from 1100mhz to a measly 1120Mhz stable on my fury. That was increasing the voltage and power limit to maximum...

The fury Nitro cards i hear can get to around 1170Mhz with a custom VRM, so i suspect the reference VRM's combined with the Silicon make reference cards terrible at overclocking.

AMD was strict with keeping the FuryX at a certain watt and TDP (most likely from competition), what they lacked in OC overhead they compensated for more Stream Processors.
