I need some Black Metal Recommendations

I put this on its own because it is in a class of its own - best 21 mins of your life right here

I bought the Inverloch album. Good stuff.

Also digging the sound of the Vanhelgd album that released back in June

If I wanted ~22 minutes of musical bliss, I'd go with this or this :D

Amazing

Very impressed by Octavarium.....

If you like that then your body might be ready for this! :D
This is a live recording (with symphony) of an entire run-through of the 6th track from their epic concept album Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence. The ~42-minute track is separated into 8 tracks on disc #2 of the album. Probably my favorite DT album.

*Music starts and symphony dies down at 7:19 if you want to skip. However, it is neat to hear the symphony play through all the movements/themes of the track.

I love this stuff. Also... in a similar vein... Vinterland:

I use this stuff in place of Barry Manilow.

Also, if anyone is sad Agalloch broke up... check out these guys:

Jesus, the drummers legs must be buff as hell

Really? I was thinking this is more of a fast drummer...

Not sure if this counts as balck, but...

This YT channel will get you up to date.

Damn Vinterland may just have just become one my favorites from this thread. I love it!

That stuff is GOOOD.

Not to steer away from the black metal topic, as this isn't black metal...though it's metal...and blackened...uh oh...confuse.
But on topic on vocals often being a yay or nay in these types of music...

When i first heard rethoric of no from Indian i was so impressed by the vocals...could waste more words on it but ehh...pointless. Here's a link

Plugging my buddy's band not because he is my buddy (though that is how I know of them), but because this is honest to god fucking amazingly good music: https://immortalbird.bandcamp.com/

They had a great write-up with NPR awhile ago too.

WAIT? Your friend is in Immortal Bird? I really loved their 5 song album... we need more from them.

Indeed. John is the bassist. I went to school with him and traveled Europe with him. I did some photos for him while back for a different band he was in too:

they released an EP back in 2013 as well

Here's some black metal in alphabetical order (Let me know if this is too much):

This is my favorite Burzum song.

Just found this and it's pretty kickass.

So epic!

Fucking hell, this is great! Thank you for posting this, I may even order one of the final pressings of their 31 minute album (though shipping tl germany costs 9€ so im not entirely sure)

just dug up my trencher/esquilax 10'' i haven't heard in aages. hung out w them years ago after a comanechi gig. fun memories.

Trencher is pretty schizophrenic....from unrefined, crude, looney to serious, technical, dark. Argh...not black metal, again, sorry, just having fun digging up some (metal) bands i haven't listened to in ages.

https://trencher.bandcamp.com/album/peel-sessions

Deafheaven, Marduk, Dark forest, Behemoth....long time no listen

my fav burzum track has got to be Lost forgotten sad spirit, but not the version that is on Aske but the one from the first Burzum record. Sounds more ggrraaarrgghhhhvaaarggg. :)

anyways, not within genre label box, it's some good old death metal...still damn good and perfect for beerburp singalongs..
