I need some advice fellow tech people on a CPU block for 285k

I’ve run into an issue with the backplate not being compatible with Raptor Lake. I tried drilling out the backplates holes to make it fit on 1851, which worked, but using washers to compensate is preventing the original screws from threading properly. My current plan is to use radiator screws with bolts instead.

Now, to the question: I’ve looked into it and it seems like it’s okay if the backplate touches the back of the motherboard, but I’m not completely sure since I’ve always followed the standard instructions that come with the water block. If I’m using large washers to compensate and make it work temporarily, do I need to put nylon washers or rubber washers underneath the metal ones?

**I found this old rubber gasket… now all I need is to find some kind of large washer or plate that I can drill through to make this work

***Thinking of something like this

Dunno man, if you are going to involve water and your base setup isnt truly fit, I question the wisdom of adding a waterblock on top of it.

You should probably ask the manufacturer of the waterblock for advice as if the people below give bad advice they will not give you replacement.

Not pretty but functional
