I have an E-Machines computer, the model number is W3611, i believe its a 2006 computer? It was a hand-me-down from an old friend years ago. I had taken it apart, out of curiousity, beacause it crashed. i have placed all the wires back correctly EXCEPT the led, on/off switch, and usb. i cannot figure out how to reconnect correctly.
I am working on saving money for a new build from scratch but i would like for this one to work until then. any suggestions?

your front panal headers are at "O" or "N" trial and error. you can yous a key or copper penny to jump the pc find the 2 pins that turn the pc on and connect the on off switch to it. if you cant fix it that way http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=DG41CN-PB&cat=MBB or new psu but i would not put any money into this pc because its a p4. I could recommend some very nice thermite to get things working again. (ha ha physic joke)
Akira pretty much hit is spot on, if you still need help, try taking a picture of your motherboard and post it and ill circle which pins to connect it too.
that should be a picture of his mb aslong as he gave the right model #
This is the correct MOBO and i have been switching prongs around those areas and still nothing. maybe a more descriptive diagram or something? i appreciate it alot

you see it says +PW- that one is the power switch try to locate this on your mb if you can upload a picture of the pins on your mb i can help point them out did you try using a key or penny to trip the mb power?

ok so i have managed to get the power and led going and what not... now im stuck at a menu about raid volumes, physical disks...HDD stuff...both of my HDDs are non raid. it says to press <CTRL-I> to enter config utility...
my keyboard will not allow me to do anything,and it is powered on
go into the bios and set boot order and divice
thats the thing. it wont let me get to bios, it loads to that screen too fast. and even though my keyboard is lit i cannot press any buttons.
you will need to try diffrent usb sockets, you can try a diffrent keyboard or if you have a ps2 keboard then that will work.
i only have one and its not usb...
it's working but both boot options lead to that menu again
