I need help with a PC build

Hi, I am planning on building a pc for audio production and also possibly some of the programs in CS6 (Photo Shop, Premier ETC.). I have a budget of about $2,000 but if possible i'd like to stay below that. I will mostly be using Pro Tools, FL Studio for music. Pro Tools will probably be ran with a large amount of plugins running simultaneously and FL will be ran with several VSTs. I want to be able to run both of them as efficiently as possible. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

I came up with something like this:

I think a build similar to this, might be a good start for your needs.

Cpu: i choosed for the 5820K its a 6 core 12 threads cpu, i think this cpu should handle your kind of workloads verywell.

Mobo: I choosed for the Asrock X99X Fatal1ty killer, its a nice feuture packed board for a decent price. You could also look at the Asrock X99 Extreme 6.

Ram: i choosed for 4x4GB Corsair vengeance LPX, of course you have various options, if you prefer a bit more ram, then you can also pickup 32GB kit of those sticks.

GPU: Since its not realy a diehard gaming system? atleast you not mentioned that, i decided to go with a GTX970, pure because of the silentness.

PSU Corsair HX750i basicly a bit overkill for your needs, but its a great psu, and there is an MIR going on which makes it an interesting purchase imo

Storage: SSD Samsung 850 EVO 256GB for your OS and programs, + WD 2TB Caviar Black for storage.

Case: Fractal Design R5 + windows. again i selected this case for silentness.

Cooler: Noctua NH-D15, An aircooler, choosed for silentness.

Let me know your thoughts.

Awesome, Thank you.. I appreciate your help. I was actually considering most of those parts with the exception on the motherboard and the cooler.. I was thinking ASUS Rampage V and a Corsair H110.. Also do you think the EVGA card is better than the ASUS 970 STRIX?

Looks good. You might want to consider a Define R5 with a solid side panel if you're concerned about noise coming from the pc, but the parts picked should run pretty damn quiet(Noctua, 80+ Plat PSU, 900 series GPU)

Any thoughts on this? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/GRXdYJ

It's quite a bit more pricy than what @MisteryAngel made.

I'm not a huge fan of all-in-ones if you can fit a large air cooler. AIO coolers tend to have some sort of a pump click or rumble which may be quiet, but still audible in many scenarios.

Also, there's no real need for Arctic Silver 5. The paste that comes on the H110i GT is actually one of the best pastes you can get(the name is escaping my mind at the moment), and the one that comes with the Noctua heatsinks works great as well.

Really pricy motherboard. I might spend the $200 on some sort of audio equipment if you don't have some already.

760t is also not a silence-optimized case. As a result, the computer would definitely create a decent amount of noise which may not be great for audio production.

Cool, thank you guys for your help. I appreciate it. :)

any gaming at all?

The EVGA is a littlebit higher clocked out of the box if im right.
But the Asus strix will be great aswell.
There is basicly not much of a diffrence between GTX970´s in general.
Since this rig is not for gaming, i choosed for one of the cheaper models.

If you also do allot of gaming, then i would recommend to go with a GTX980!.

THe Asus Rampage 5 Extreme is of course a great motherboard, Not sure if its realy worth its premium price, cause you basicly just pay for the rog label.
As far as i concerned it does not realy offer very much extra feutures over a cheaper board, but the Rampage 5 does has a decent onboard audio solution.
its a great quality board, if the extra money is worth it to you, then sure go with it.

But Asrock X99 boards are very reliable aswell. a few bigger Hardware reviewers use them in their systems, like Wendell has the Asrock X99 WS-10G, Logan has Asrock X99 WS, JayZ2Cents has the X99X Fatal1ty killer on his test bench, Bryan from Tech Yes City uses an Extreme 6.
Asus and Asrock are the only 2 company´s which i would personaly buy an X99 board from, based on the researches i have done about X99 boards in general.

The Corsair H110GGT is a good aio cooler, But keep in mind, that aio´s coolers in general produce more noise, Of course you could fix it, with replacing the fans on the rad for a couple of Noctua´s or other silenet fans.

I choosed for the aircooler NH-D15 pure for noise reduction, which is very important with an audio production rig imo.
Of course the H110GT is a better performing cooler no single doubt about that.
