I know I am gonna get the Superlux 668B headset, and I'm gonna get a ModMic as well. I am unsure which one to get as there are many options on their website, and I am also unsure if I need Base Clasps or not.
Are you sure you really have no desk space for a desktop microphone? Because there's like the blue snowflake, and the samson Go mic which I'd imagine will have better quality overall for the same cost.
but can I use that to talk in game? I don't plan on streaming/podcasting
They're just microphones, only real difference hardware wise is that they're USB which can clear up some issues with interference on certain motherboards/laptops. And I don't think the mod mic is adjustable from an audio standpoint, but it's only ment to be used in one way anyways.
It's more up to you weather you want it on your headphones, but personally I try to stick with desktop mics.
And the uni-directional mod mic would be the one to go for though I think.
Ok i think im gonna go for the mod mic you suggested because I don't have the desk space, but would you happen to know how the headset/microphone actually plug into my computer, I can link you my motherboard if you need it
The mod mic uses a standard 3.5mm audio jack, usually the red audio port on your motherboard.
ok thank you for the help!
Last thing I think, pick these up with your headphones, they'll take a while to ship, but it's better than the stock ear pads.
There's also this microphone if you wanted to save money, dunno about it's quality compared to the mod mic though, seems alright, the sound just isn't as full
ok so my 668B just arrived 10 minutes ago and i am wondering if i would get the best audio quality from my case headphone jack (port?) or from my motherboard. I would try my motherboard but I dont know where to plug in the headphone cable. I looked up my motherboard and all it says is that it has 6 audio ports, which doesnt help. your help would be much appreciated.
It would normally go into the green port on the back of your motherboard, or your front port, whatever has less static.
Did you like buy your PC pre-built?
My MODMIC works great. I wouldn't even hesitate if you're thinking about buying one.
