Hello, I have a bottleneck in my networking, and I need help finding it. I pay for 21/2 connection, but I only get 16,2/1,6.
I live in an old house, built in the early 1940's, and I think my internet comes to me trough old telephone cables from the 60's, and so I think that might be the problem, but I want to be sure. I live in a sparesly populated area in Finland, so I really don't think that my ISP wouldn't be capable of delivering full bandwith. Also, gigabit fiber is avavible in my area... As I said earlier, the connection is very stable, and NEVER crashes. Here is my setup:
From the old telephone lines to my old house, from the telephone outlet to my router via 10m of some network cable (sot sure what kind), and then from my router, 2m of CAT6 cable to my PC. So I don't use wifi for my PC. My router is quite old, so I'm getting a new one with wifi and stuff. I don't think my router is bottlenecking tough, since I think it's rated for something like 100/100... Thanks for reading! :)
