I need help choosing PSU!

So here is the build I am thinking of making. http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/GQmgtJ

I plan to overclock just the cpu to 4GHZ and the gpu is going to be left untouched because it is already overclocked to where I wanted. Is 500 watt going to be enough or should I opt for a 550 or even 600w?

You should get an i7 6700 over a 6600K, 8 threads at 4ghz turbo > 4 cores at avg 4.5ghz OC

Also saved like $200

got a more budget board that has solid power delivery and USB 3.1

Has a better PSU, gold rated and semi-modular, that EVGA PSU you had is extremely low end

And a more economical montior, not sure if it has a VESA mount

and why not a define S if you want a define case? it's pretty similar and cheaper, getting a window defeats the purpose of the S though somewhat

And as a general rule, if this is your first PC, I wouldn't suggest you start with such expensive peripherals

For the purpose of picking a PSU, check out http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/PSUReviewDatabase.html

Look up the model/part number you want for any PSU you are looking at. That site will give you reviews from decent sources, but also important is the info it has on the units. Look up the reputation of the OEM or particular info for the OEM with that line, as that can make a big difference in reliability and performance (note, EVGA is NOT the OEM, they can and do use several different OEMs for their PSUs).

500W should be fine for that config. That being said you can get a 600W for another $5 CAD

For another $10 CAD you could get a modular 550W.

I would personally spring for those as it gives you more headroom and a more enjoyable build experience respectively.

@Streetguru You didn't get the dude a cooler. Deepcool Captain 240 isn't too bad.
