Soo the problem is, I have everything plugged in correctly or as told.. Top left/Bottom Left are the power connector things for the switch to power the computer on & off & reset it also (I'm new to building this is my first build) I think it's calle the front panal connectors. anyways.. All there is is that "SB Power" light & It's green .. as Shown in the Top Left picture. When I press the power button to power on the computer.. It does completely nothing.. Top right & Bottom right pictures are just showing you what I have plugged in & Making sure they're correct by showing you what I have.. The Case.. It's "The Predator Mid Tower Case" I have my 2 memory sticks in there also, Not sure if you can tell.. but yeah.. It just doesn't power.. I've been at this for hours on end... Please Please Please Help!! :/
Can you please take a better picture of where you have the power switch plugged into? So we can see the writing underneath and make sure it is wired properly.
There isn't enough space to get under there & get the writing but I can tell you what's what
Starting with the top row from left to right
(Gree Cord Power LED +)
(White Cord Power LED -)
Now bottom row From left to Right
(Red + & White -) HDD LED
(Orange PWR & White Ground) Power SW
(Blue Reset & White Ground) Power Reset)
All are in correct order & Still nothing.. In the picture all but the Power ones were wrong.. But now they're correct.. & Still nothing at all. I have the manual right here and To make sure.. They're correct
Okay let's eliminate the power switch being bad, unplug the power switch wire from the motherboard and move the reset switch wiring to its place. Hit the reset switch and see if you get anything. ALso please make sure you pushed the power supply power cable in the back firmly, not enough to break things but enough for that secure feeling.
Okay so, I put the "Reset Switch" to the Power Switch spot, Pressed the reset button.. Nothing.. Just still have that green light thee "SB PWR" light As Shown In That Picture Up There. I'm not completely sure what you mean by pusshing the power supply power cable back. I'll ziptie everything safely once this issue is fixed.
haha, as I said up there... I have them all in their correct spots.. I've been trying to figure this out for.. about 14 hrs +... Got pretty pissed lol, But yeah They're all in their correct spots... I've made sure soo many times.. :/
I see you have the green light on but let's do this test anyway and see if she goes on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FWXgQSokF4
Unplug all power connectors from all your conponents(hard drive , motherboard etc) leave your case fans plugged in, and see if after this test your fans come on.
That is a good sign indeed, now it is time to get more involved. Take the motherboard out of the case, put it on top of your motherboard box plug everything in and see if she will start. You are technically suppose to do this before you put the system in the case to make sure your conponents function, but lets do that. While you have the motherboard out, remove your ram and reseat it just for good measure(becareful not to damage your motherboard as it is sitting on cardboard).
While the motherboard is out of the case snap some pictures of the writing under the switches just for good measure, i know you've been over it a ton of times but you may need a set of fresh eyes on it.
Okay, give me a second to take the pictures n' such. Question what do you mean plug everything in? While it's outside of the case? Do i do the 2 drives also?
You don't need the drives but you can also plug them in if you want to. Here i found you a video that shows you, you are just testing all the conponents outside the case to make sure they are proper. Take a look, the bit that matters starts at 11:00 mark https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_56kyib-Ls . Be careful with static electricity as well.
You are definitely right about having the wiring right, just hook up the power switch only and do the outside the case setup and see if she will start up.
Power supply was tested and cleared( using another psu), ram was reseated and tested solo per dimm(it is also in the proper slots).
PWR switch is not the issue either, using a screwdriver jumper. If anyone is reading has any ideas on what could be the issue please respond, or any idea on how to test if the motherboard is the issue as well.
