I need a very simple program to rebind keys for my broken keyboard, but cant make it myself

30 minutes ago I may have gotten ramen all over my room, and whilst looking looking for a towel… It may have messed up my keyboard.

I dont have the money to replace it, and I dont think autohotkey can do what I need as fast as I need it. (there tends to be a delay when actions are given)

I need, a very simple program to rebind my keys to fix my keyboard software side, and I think you guys are the only people who can do it. To explain how bad it is, I am currently copy and pasting .

From ~ to /, these are my rows.

14 2 3 14 (WINDOWS KEY+Five) 6+Tab *7 y-8 9 0

G/A S D F G/ H J K L ’ L (ENTER X 2)

(shift) z x c v b n m , . /

Last row is fine besides FN doing FN+6 and Back arrow doing (Back arrow, Home, and Caps lock.

Help me L1 tech, you are my only hope.

Get a cheap keyboard for ten bucks. It’s not gonna be pleasant, but more so than weirdly rebound keys.

Why sort of keyboard was it? Mechanical or membrane? Might be fixable but not immediately.

But yeah @pFtpr is right, and how did you type all of this if the board id broken?

membrane

at the time it wasn’t as broken as it is now its unusable now

The keys may start working again once everything has dried up completely.

If you really want to hack your way around this have a look at this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=22339

This, I can assure you this would be best XD

Could take it apart and wash the layers of the membrane and let them dry and then put it back together. They are not complex inside at all. Will take a day or so to get it all sorted, take apart, separate the layers, wash, dry gently and leave air dry over night or longer to be sure.

the keyboard is wireless tho

What keyboard is it?

Logitech
k360

Honestly @dragonTamerCos just check your local repair shops and see if you can pick up one for free, if not your local thrift store typically has at least one keyboard that’ll hold over until you get the money. If you are a tinkerer take it apart for sure, but don’t try software fixes as they almost all have that miserable lag. Best of luck to you either way though!

Should be fine, just have to take the batteries out might be a pain to separate it all, and would have to be completely dry everywhere before reassembly.

Water will not kill electronics if they are not on, it is only when you run power through them that it becomes a problem, thusly everything has to be completely dry.

Luckely here is a video on you exact keyboard.

Though still I would just say get another one.

I bet $5 you can run it through the dishwasher without the dry cycle, then leave it out in the sun for a day and it will work again.
