I currently have a Fractal Define R4 and love it, my mom was slightly intoxicated and was yelling and slammed my door on it multiple times it survived but the power button doesn't work every thing else is fine I can turn it on with the button on the motherboard. I love the clean look of the R4 but here are my problems with it. I had to remove the big hard drive cage to install my His 7970 and my Kraken x60 won't fit in the top with 4 fans so I had to put it in the front.
So in summary I want to be able to fit the radiator of the Kraken with 4 fans in the top and I need to fit the graphics card in with more than 3 hard drives I have a ssd to boot from then 2 1TB drives for storage then I have like 5 hard drives laying around that I would like to set up in raid which I have never done before. If you need to see the rest of my pc parts they are listed on my profile.
I like the Phanteks Enthoo Luxe, a lot of space (also for fans), well made and some bling with the color change leds... Only 6 3.5" slots, though. (2.5" drives can be mounted separately.)
Yes they have some nice cases. I'll probably go with their Evolv ATX for my next build but it has about zero space for HDDs unless you use ugly "shelfs" to mount them, that's why I didn't recommend that one.
I don't know if you saw it but there is space above the mounting bracket if you run with a push/pull configuration. With four fans you mean a 420mm radiator or a 240 with push/pull (which I assumed)?
Here's a good video review (I forwarded to the part about the top panel, where you can see it quite well):
Oh and there are tons of other cases out there as well, I just like the Phanteks because they are comparatively cheap and well built with some nice attention to details. Maybe someone else will chime in with other suggestions.
I know I figured more people would have chimed in by now to list their favorite cases ugh. I normally always get help right away here I have 2 threads open now and struggling to get help I'm having trouble with getting a ssd to work on my laptop. I can't really use my desktop because power button doesn't work.
Does it have a reset button? if so just switch the wires on the mobo header from the reset to the power button pins, mobo dont give a fuck what button it is both work identical.
I had a 750D was very nice, but BIG case like freakn huge, small filing cabinet size in terms of height, but was well made if i was doing sli builds still it would be my go to case.
I do not recommend the 250D it's level of quality is shit compared to the 750D.
I know Ive gotten it to power on still that's how I know its just the power button But my mom is offering to buy me a new one because she feels bad for breaking it and I'm going to build a cheap nas or server so I can use my old case for that and if my mom is going to pay for it and I don't have to spend my school money I'm going to go for it.
will the r5 fit the kraken x60 in push pull mounted to the top? Plus will the long ass HIS 7970 fit without taking out the hard drive cage? I love the R4 besides those problems when I bought it nzxt said the radiator will fit in the top which is not true at all Do you know what all they changed on the R5 I tried looking it up and couldn't find what the differences are.
I don't have a windowed one but I might get one I'm definitely not into leds at all my only roblem is my mother board is an off shade of green and its hard finding parts to match it then I had 8GB of Kingston Beast in there and then I got 8Gb of Corsair ram for free and its red it looks tacky but it was free Ill change it to Kingston beast when I build my server/nas Ill just use the red ram in there and get 2 more sticks of black Beast ram even tho its stupidly over priced
I think I fell In love with this case. My only complaint is that it doesn't have sound dampening materiel. Corsair Vengeance C70.
It will match my Asus Sabertooth R2.0 perfectly I'm not a fan of corsair products, so I never looked at their cases but I don't remember how but I came across this one the ammo box look with the side latches is sexy and for an extra $25 I found a company that makes a solid window without the fan holes which I'm going to purchase.
The C70 is a nice enough case. Same platform as the like of the 600t etc just with a different skin. Good cable management, ventilation and as gimmicky as it may seem the latches on the side panels work really well.
Oh man, the C70 is a really good case. One of the most solid cases I've seen. The dampening material thing is a concern, but it makes up for that with handles and general ease of build.
One other thing I don't like is I have to buy a few 120mm fans for the front and rear the Define R4 will fit 140mm fans all the way around. I called Corsair which was surprisingly a nice experience most phone calls for support aren't. The guy told me if you drill new holes in the front it will fit 140mm fans which I have no problem doing, my only concern is that looking at images of the case the holes for air are only so big so I don't know if you would actual get any performance increase with a 140mm fan. I will have to mock one up and see what it looks like. I just know that 120mm fans are louder.
