Hello there. I am on a search for a piece of software where you can make, edit, view Text files and share with other people on the same network (OFFLINE/LAN). It will be used on a ASUS transformer (Windows) in tablet mode, where one person can make, edit and others read those Text files. My friend needs this for their band to quickly edit before and even on stage if necessary.
What program do you use? If you use word 2016 I know they offer "cloud co-authoring", but I wonder if it would work with a document on a server on the Lan. You could try this.
AFAIK, the closest way is to make the documents and save them over a Windows local network, still called HomeGroup right?
Of course it's not live editing.
There's a new program called Open365 that is based off of LibreOffice, but tries to do the same thing as Google Docs/etc. That may do what you want, but I can't say for sure.
Hi @alphazero1990
Hope you are fine, I had the same question and make some search and ended up on this post… just curious if you got any results from any of the software
