I need a google docs equivalent program but offline/lan

Hello there. I am on a search for a piece of software where you can make, edit, view Text files and share with other people on the same network (OFFLINE/LAN).
It will be used on a ASUS transformer (Windows) in tablet mode, where one person can make, edit and others read those Text files.
My friend needs this for their band to quickly edit before and even on stage if necessary.

Any suggestions are welcome.

I'm curious to know too.

What program do you use? If you use word 2016 I know they offer "cloud co-authoring", but I wonder if it would work with a document on a server on the Lan. You could try this.

if you have the google drive app, I'm fairly confident those documents are available offline too, as long as you "save them" to your device prior.

AFAIK, the closest way is to make the documents and save them over a Windows local network, still called HomeGroup right?

Of course it's not live editing.

There's a new program called Open365 that is based off of LibreOffice, but tries to do the same thing as Google Docs/etc. That may do what you want, but I can't say for sure.

Ooo that looks pretty promising.

Onlyoffice Seems to be what you want.

You can use ownCloud and host it on a VM or computer in your LAN. Out-of-the-box it supports collaboration on RTF documents in real-time.

Collabora offers a Libre Office integration into ownCloud - not too different from Google Docs.

Thanks for the suggestions, Google wasn't very helpful the last 3 days xD. We will try them out.

You can install Sandstorm on a local machine!

Hi @alphazero1990
Hope you are fine, I had the same question and make some search and ended up on this post… just curious if you got any results from any of the software
