I bought the fx 8150 with a watercooler on newegg. Its running at 39 degress celsius. At idle. I havent really had a chance to see how it runs at load. Is that to hot for idle temps? Also i read somewhere that some thermal paste takes time to setup. Is this the case?
Don't know why you wouldn't just buy the 8350/8320...
They are a little hot, my H60 idle's at around 35 with one fan and crappy paste.
It could be the issue. Just use Prime95 that set it in? If the problem persists, if I were you I'd just send it back.
A cheap liquid cooler, a bulldozer chip, and a poor application of poor quality thermal paste is a loosing combination. Buy some good stuff like Arctic silver 5, and clean off and reapply the paste, after watching logan's video about how to apply it properly. Those bulldozers run HOT, so I would not expect too much out of it.
Yes thermal paste takes time to set ...just runing prime 95 for 40-50mins will set the paste and you can see if your temps are stable
From what ive read the amd branded cooler that shipped with my 8150 is nearly identical to the antec 920. I happed to have bought some arctic silver and applied it.
