I Just built my pc but Non of the Fans or Cpu starts. There is red light on cpu symbol on mobo. Can anyone help about it? It’s my first time building a pc. when I plug in my psu cable and start it it and click on power button it just gives red light on cpu part on motherboard and just goes away and thats it. any help?

Welcome to the community.

Can you provide more details on the hardware please? It may be one of the components is incompatible.

Also try reseating all connections. Sometimes they don’t go in first time.

thanks for answering . I don’t know much about pc components but I assume they should be compatible.
CPU : Ryzen 5 3600
GPU : Gtx 1660 Super
Motherboard : b450 Aorus Elite
Ram : Hyperx 2x8gb (16gb) 3200Mhz
PSU : CORSAIR CV550 550W

Have you connected the CPU power cable in the top of the motherboard?
It’s usually in the top left corner and it’s similar to a PCIe connector, but it’s split into two 4 pin ends instead of 6 + 2 pin end.
I would also try and disconnect everything from the system but one stick of RAM and see if it “boots” (you’ll get a GPU LED on without a GPU, but that would rule out any issue with RAM or CPU).

As @MetalizeYourBrain says make sure everything is connected as instructed by the motherboard manual.

If you are sure it is connected then the issue may be compatibility of parts. Do you know if the parts are new or did you buy them second hand?

This is a third Gen Ryzen CPU which was launched mid 2019. Your motherboard was first launched in 2018. Therefore if your motherboard has not had an update to the BIOS to revision 40 or above:

Then it will not work with the Ryzen 3600. If it is a new board then you should go back to the retailer and ask them to update the BIOS for you (or send you a kit to do it).

If you got it second hand, you may need to buy / borrow a ryzen 1000 or 2000 series CPU to do the BIOS update. Once done you can install the new CPU and return the older one.

Apologies this is not an easy fix if you are not confident with IT. If you have a friend with another Ryzen computer, you may want to ask for their help. Most local computer shops will be able to help you do this too.

Good luck!

Doesn’t the Aorus Elite have the ability to fkash a new BIOS without a CPU installed? The Aorus Master has. if it has, just install the newest BIOS first (read the manual) and everything should be peachy.
There’s no meed to consult the retailer.

Thank you very much with it , I will try solving it somehow but I’ve bought my components online and I don’t have a spare ryzen CPU , I want to ask does it have to be ryzen or i can also do the update on a intel cpu? because i have a spare desktop with an i5 2400.

Thank you so much I’ll try it now.

Since you read my comment as well this comment is probably obsolete but no, you absolutely cannot mount an Intel CPU in an AM4 socket.

You can however - as mentioned in my comment above - probably update the BIOS without the CPU being installed.

Thanks but I don’t know how to update bios with flash drive if I follow this video tutorial will it get it done? www.youtube .com/watch?v=RcDxq0-edAI

There should be a detailed procedure in the motherboard manual. read it carefully and follow it specifically. A video on youtube may miss a step or be out of date. Look for a chapter called “Q-Flash”

It is good you have another PC you can use to download the bios and create the flash drive.

Okay , Thank you very much again. also do I have to keep my psu on while doing this process?

Everything is in the manual. Just read the Q-Flash (or Q-Flash+ part) carefully and come back here if you’ve still got some questions.

I did this kind of BIOS flash two weeks ago and ny memory is still fresh, but consulting the manual is important.

I’ve checked my manual but somehow it only says Bios flashing is risky and What it does ,
There isn’t a part where is shows how to do it  I’m lost

I’m sorry, I thought you had a B550, my mistake on that side. Unfortunately, the B450 does not have this functionality. As a result you need an AM4 CPU to flash the newest BIOS version.

Also, what strikes me as odd is that while the specification page metions Ryzen 5000, the Support’s page BIOS entry doesn’t mention it. It could be that there’s currently no BIOS for Ryzen 5000 for this board. (Please take this advice with a grain of salt and conduct your on research. I’m currently on my mobile and don’t have enough time to conduct a real search.)

aw , It’s weird that I need another Ryzen Processor in order to use my current one  also isnt my cpu the Ryzen 3000 series?

Yeah, damn I’m stupid today. Shod have read everything more carefully.
But same thing, which CPU did you order? (I promise to read it this time around)

Ryzen 5 3600

No, you got me wrong. You mentioned that you already ordered a second one for the BIOS update. Which one is that?

Um , I’ve never mentioned that, and I haven’t ordered another cpu for the Bios update.
