I have a really big problem

I think my graphics card is over heating, because ill be trying to do something and part of the screen will wig out, for instance the "ok" when im trying to install my Mobo. Im getting pissed because its a brand spankin new EVGA 9800GTX KO edition, not the OH (overheat) edition. What do I do?

Install a pci slot fan thing under it and see if it helps

Download a program called rivatuner, and speed fan. Speed fan will detect the temperature of your card. If indeed your card temp. is too high. Then use Rivatuner this program will allow you to speed up your video card fan. If speeding up the fan dosent work id suggest you buy after market cooling.

But It isnt stable long enough to even do anything.

If thats case then you probably have a defective card. Because the stock coolign should fail under normal conditions. Just call evga they're really nice ppl. They'll tell u wat to do.

I shall, for now I have an oscillating fan pointed into my case. LOL

Speaking of overheating gfx cards, I have an XFX 8600GT XXX edition. It gets in between 50 - 55 degrees on idle, and 61 on full load. =/

GPU-Z also gives Temperature readings on your graphics card also, so you can use that too.

well rivatuner is easier and faster to update

it has to be the card i say you return it and try a new one

furion, thats not hot for a card.... those are the same temps i get on a stock 8800gt

LOL

yeeh your card is prolly defective (lol is that an english word :s dunno) so just call the shop where you bought it send your card back and if your cards really broke they will have to send a new one :D

It think we all know the solution now, return the card. if you cant even get past boot up with it then just use your onboard graphics and then return the card

i think it may be he drivers or you many need to reinstall the drivers or something

lol lildelo he is sayin he doesnt even got the time to install new drivers cos his pc just freezes/turns off well i just think you will have to send your card to the shop/Nvid

either send it in to get fixed or something or maybe look into some better or more case cooling. other than that ive got no idea mate, maybe look at the ventilation the card has, make sure nothing is blocking the fan or the air circulation.

dude you answered the question for your self "brand spankin new" warranty hello were are you return it and buy a different one
