I don't know what to do!

So, I basically have 2 options right now. I can upgrade my cpu to either a 965 BE (don't have to buy a new mobo) OR microcenter has the i5 2500k on sale for $159.99, but i would have to buy a new mobo. My question is, is the i5 2500k even WORTH the extra $100? Or should i save my money and upgrade my mobo or RAM later on?

Also worth mentioning, my mobo is sort of limiting my RAM, so i kind of want to upgrade it anyway.

Thanks!

The i5 would be the better investment yes. Ram isn't that expensive compared to a new motherboard and processor so you could hold off on more ram. But if you're tight on money AMD would be easier on your wallet. Different factors push different decisions.

The i5 2500k would be a better investment as the one above me has mentioned already, and I would say it isn't bad for such an upgrade.

If you should wait I can't say really as it depends on how badly you want this upgrade or not as in what you're going to use it for, but for the price the i5 2500k is one hell of a processor you can overclock quite a bit as well if need be.

if your going to get a new mb go with the fx8320 and an 970 mb http://www.amazon.com/AMD-FX-8320-Eight-Core-Processor-FD8320FRHKBOX/dp/B009O7YU56/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1355797430&sr=1-1&keywords=fx+8320
