Do you have the latest bios?
And eventualy the newest drivers for the headset?
could be a usb power issue aswell.

yes and yes
Sounds like some sort of a usb power issue.
does it also happen if you use a diffrent usb port?
yes, could the usb power issue be the PSU or is it more likely my mobo?
Motherboard i´m affraid.
Does it do the same on both usb 3.0 and 2.0 ports?
Maybe you could RMA it to Asus.
It could ofc also be a Windows issue with playback devices.
Windows 7 is well known for bugging with that.
But if it loses physical connection with the usb headset, then it looks more like a hardware issue to me.
I´m currently checking what the latest bios version is for your mobo.
But the Asus site is terrible slow
Newst bios version = 2603.
So update to that, if you not allready done that.
ok, well i may wait on the mobo, I'm going to attempt a fresh windows install when i put it into the new case.
also why i will probably rma it, i hear that process takes a long ass time. if so if i just bought a new one and used the RMA to build a side rig for my dad, how is: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130790
Msi 970A-Gaming mobo should be fine for your FX6300 basicly.
I'm a little miffed it was on sale yesterday too for like 20 bucks less.
well if you want to upgrade or build yourself a new rig.
Then i would personaly not botter too much, if the system works fine.
Other then the audio over usb issue.
I would say then save up some cash, and build a nice skylake or haswell build realy.
And give the current rig to your dad i guess.
See not sure what route i want to go, my dad really doesn't need more than an APU setup, and I didn't plan on getting rid of my R9 270 any time soo as it has been a nice little power house for me. but I will consider it.
2 days later and it wouldn't boot until i force shutdown and start up a few times in a row. I fixed the Headset issue, it ended up being the Logitech software, simply closing it stopped the sound cutouts. But now the occasional failed startup is back so I will try the replacement PSU I ordered.
